About the CRS -- Philosophy & Principles
Our core values are such that we operate under the following 5 principles and philosophies.
| 1. Our definition of “environmental sustainability” is based on The Natural Step framework for sustainability. |
| 2. Applied sustainability means creating environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable solutions that are tangible and visible. Sustainability needs to be seen, touched, and lived. |
| 3. Our focus is in rural, community, and grassroots settings. |
| 4. Our perspective is Global awareness, regional reach, local action. We pay attention to global and national sustainability needs but focus on smaller scale solutions. |
| 5. We value intergenerational equity, especially to cultivate youth leadership. Youth are involved in decisions and provided with opportunities to take part in sustainable solutions. |
